A few photos and some action videos
My colleague has slowly started to load some of the shots and movies he took at the Songkran water fest on Sunday onto a cloud server. I thought you might like to see some of the action. The shots above were taken in the Khao San Road area as were the two videos. The first 9 second was one I took just before putting my phone away. The second longer 21 second video was shot as we walked down the street.
There is not much more to say. The day was crazy, as were all of the participants. Songkran seems to be one of those times where permission is given for everyone to go nuts.
The first photo above is of our team just before we entered the fray. Our hope was that we could protect each other, kind of like a navy Seal team. It didn’t work.
As more photos and videos appear, I’ll post them, but for now have a look at the few that are available, as well as the two short videos below.
By the way, the real tall guy in the fourth shot is an American friend who lives in Bangkok. As well as being a university student, he is a professional basketball player in the Thai pro league. We thought we could use him as cover as he is so tall at 6’-9”. But he turned out to be a huge target, along with everyone around him. Oh well. It was a plan and it failed. Everyone on our team became targets and our basketball friend seemed to cause us to be even bigger bulls eyes than we might have been if he had not been around.
